18th May: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With the 2020/21 campaign drawing to a close from across Europe, we have another stacked midweek schedule on our hands. On that note, for those of you looking to place a midweek acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Tuesday 18th May

BST 18:00 Manchester United vs Fulham

After suffering a worrying week thanks to those back-to-back defeats against Leicester and Liverpool, Manchester United are simply looking to make a return to winning ways on Tuesday evening. Welcoming fans back to Old Trafford in midweek and looking to gain some much-needed momentum heading into their Europa League final against Villarreal, The Reds will be calling on attacking talisman Bruno Fernandes to spearhead their charge on home soil. Firmly in contention to pick up this year s PFA Player of the Year award, the former Sporting Lisbon star bagged himself a consolation strike against Liverpool last time out. Continuing to impress once again this season and gaining a string of plaudits, the Portuguese playmaker has recorded 18 Premier League strikes so far this year. More impressive, Fernandes has also bagged four goals in his last five matchups across all formats. On the flip side, putting in another worrying display over the weekend, Fulham appear to be ending their domestic campaign with a real whimper. Eventually hit with a 3-1 defeat away at Southampton on Saturday lunchtime, Scott Parker s side have also seen their immediate Championship return confirmed with time to spare. Losing their top-flight status thanks to a 2-0 defeat at home against Burnley, The Whites have managed to collect just a single point from any of their last eight Premier League matchups.

Tip: Bruno Fernandes to score anytime @ 11/10

19:00 Wrexham vs Notts County

Starting with Tuesday s hosts, managing to mount what was a stunning comeback on the road over the weekend, the mood in Wrexham s camp should be at a real high. Despite falling 2-0 down away at Boreham Wood, The Reds snatched a dramatic 3-2 win on their travels and find themselves sat in pole position to clinch a play-off spot. Gaining a reputation for their clinical edge in the final third, Dean Keates men have really bounced back from those three straight defeats at the start of April. Including those back-to-back 3-2 and 3-0 wins against Boreham Wood and Yeovil Town, Wrexham are unbeaten in their last seven National League matchups, landing themselves 17 points. Knowing that victory in midweek can all but secure their top-seven finish, The Red Dragons have also managed to record a hugely impressive 18 goals on their extended unbeaten run. On the flip side, while Notts County might have been disappointed to have only played out a 2-2 draw at home against Bromley last time out, The Magpies are still in pole position to secure their own play-off spot this season. Still boosted by those back-to-back 4-1 and 4-0 romps against Maidenhead and Barnet earlier in the month, Tuesday s guests have still collected 10 points from their last four National League contests. In a matchup that could see a string of chances in midweek, we re backing both teams to find the net.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 10/11

19:45 Aldershot Town vs Eastleigh

Keeping our attention on the National League this week, Eastleigh are another side that have their sights set on making a late charge for the play-off spots. After eventually having to settle for a bottom-half finish during last year s interrupted campaign, The Blues have enjoyed a largely impressive run during the back end of the year. Managing to make a return to winning ways after that defeat against Torquay on May 1st, The Spitfires were last seen on Saturday landing a deserved 3-0 romp against National League strugglers Barnet. With the mood in their camp likely to still be at a real high, Ben Strevens side have collected 12 points from their last five fifth-tier contests. Gaining a reputation for their continued performances at the back and recording a clean sheet in each of those four victories, Eastleigh also shocked many with those back-to-back wins against Notts County last month. On the flip side, slumping back to losing ways over the weekend and hit with a thumping 3-1 defeat at the hands of Hartlepool, Aldershot almost appear destined for a bottom-half finish. Losing three of their last four National League contests, it should also be noted that Danny Searle s side have mustered just a pair of victories over the past month. While Tuesday s hosts might open as a standout pick with the bookmakers, don t be surprised to see an upset in midweek.

Tip: Eastleigh win @ 17/10
